400 ASA Color Print Film
Watch
We recommend doing your film test in full sunlight. Set the
watch next to the tent where you can see it with your hands inside the tent.
1) Load the 35mm still camera with the color print film. Close the
camera back and advance 2-3 frames. Zip the camera inside the tent. Put both your hands
inside the tent, making sure the elastic sleeves are snug around your forearms or above
your elbow.
2) Open the back of the camera, and advance the film 3 more frames.
Very carefully pull a small amount of film out of the cassette, and twist the film gently
so the 'emulsion' faces the dome of the tent. Hold in place 2-3 minutes.
3) Untwist the film and rewind back into the cassette before
removing your hands from inside the tent. Once the film is inside the cassette, you can
remove your hands and open the tent to remove the camera.
4) Take the cassette to any one hour processing lab, and specify
"DEVELOP ONLY- DO NOT PRINT". I usually tell the lab that it is a film test
only, and there are not supposed to be any photographs on the film (so they don't throw it
away!)
5) The film test should return with base (orange) color only. Camera
Essentials would be happy to evaluate any results if you are not sure what the test should
look like.
6) If for any reason the film has bands of black or color streaks on
the clear base, please send the film test and the tent to Camera Essentials for
evaluation.
7) Camera Essentials guarantees every tent to be light-proof when it
leaves our warehouse. We will replace any tent that is defective up to 6 months of
purchase. The film test is strictly for your confidence.
